Design
The bed is an entire room.
We do not design a product. We tune an atmosphere: the relation of white to ivory, of weight to drape — in the bed, the pillow, the blanket, and the same language in the towel and the bathrobe.
01
Quiet as material
Colour at PLUMA is not a trend. It is temperature. Ivory, bone, sand, taupe, ink. Five hues that suffice for a whole house, because the light in the room remakes them every hour.
02
Proportion
The sheet is longer than it needs to be. The cover falls to the floor or stops, deliberately, above the ankle. The PLUMA pillow is for sleep: one exact pillow, not a decorative pile. One cushion too many is already noise. Design begins in removal.
03
Permanence
There is no winter season and summer season in the commercial sense. There is cloth for warm months, cloth for cold months — a cashmere blanket when the room cools — and the same language for both. What is right for the bed now should be right a decade on.
04
The world of the bed
The bed is a landscape: sheet, pillow, blanket. When it is made correctly, the room around it may remain almost empty. That is the whole of the design: not to fill the house, but to give sleep a place that has dignity.
05
The bath
The same language continues into the water. A towel that has weight and thirst, a bathrobe worn like air that has a body. The bath at PLUMA is not a separate category — it is the continuation of sleep.
